He was so shy and from the moment you meet him, you know that he is keeping something from the readers and from Lea. Gabe was definitely my favourite character. Let me start by going through why I loved the two main characters. Within the first 20 pages, the book had already referenced 10 Things I Hate About You and Mean Girls. I went into this book expecting it to be cute but it was so relatable. This book was so ridiculously stunning and romantic yet so original. Surely Gabe and Lea will figure out that they are meant to be together. Even the squirrel who lives on the college green believes in their relationship. The waitress at the diner automatically seats them togehter. The bus driver tells his wifer about them. The baristas at Starbucks watch their relationship like a TV show. Their creative writing teacher pushes them together. But somehow even when nothing is going on, something is happening between them, and everyone can see it. Unfortunately, Lea is reserved, Gabe has issues and despite their initial mutual crush, it looks like they are never going to work things out. They get the same pop culture references, order the same Chinese food and hang out in the same places. Lea and Gabe are in the same creative writing class. The creative writing teacher, the delivery guy, the local Starbucks baristas, his best friend, her roommate and the squirrel in the park all have one thing in common – they believe Gabe and Lea should get together. If you’ve never heard of it, here’s the summary for you: This book was as cute and fabulous as I thought it would be. I read most of it last night and then read the last 50 pages or so this morning. I have been in the worst reading slump for the last two weeks and I took a week to read a book which is unusual for me now so when I finally picked up A Little Something Different, which was one of my most anticipated releases of the year, I expected to take a whole week to read it.
